Phil Meets Bill consists of bassist Phil Zuckerman and guitarist Bill Rueger, two young jazz musicians centered in Burlington, Vermont. Together they tackle a wide variety of jazz standards, including a good deal of bebop, as well as older classics of the 30's and 40's. They commit themselves to great phrasing, responsive improvisation, and a real sense of swing. Both Phil and Bill studied music at the University of Vermont, where they studied under great musical minds such as Ray Vega, Tom Cleary, John Rivers, and Joe Capps.
